Headhunting for Brown Trout on the Farmington River

With cooling river temps, active bugs, and peak spawning right around the corner, October proves to be one of the best times to target big brown trout. We’re heading up to the Farmington River for a full day wade-trip with some of our favorite guides, whose knowledge of this river is second to none.  This trip will combine skills and stealth in pursuit of sizable browns.

Groups of two anglers will be paired up with one guide, and will be provided with personal instruction, flies, leaders, tipper, and rod set-ups. We will meet at UpCountry Sportfishing around 7:30AM, split up with our guides to be fishing by 8AM.  We will fish with our guides until mid-afternoon. Your Juliana's host will have a cooler with drinks and snacks that you can grab from in the morning, but Anglers will pack their own brown-bag lunch that will be eaten riverside at their leisure.

This trip has been a great success in the past and presents a great opportunity to land a picturesque, buttery brown trout. Many of our anglers have landed their PB (personal best) on this river, and we hope history repeats itself on October 18th!

Note:
This is a one-day trip.  If you would like to book an overnight stay, we recommend looking into Legends BnB.

Required:
Connecticut fresh-water fishing license with a trout stamp, waders w/ belt, wading boots, wading staff, and polarized sunglasses, and hat, bug spray.  Anglers are welcome to bring their own 5- or 6-weight fly rod & matching reel and/or nymphing rig, fly line, leader & tippet, but our guides will also provide all necessary rod and reel set-ups, flies, leaders, and tippet.

Trip Cost: $387.00 per angler covers guides, tips, snacks & beverages.
