The Julianas are heading to the Hudson! The Hudson River hosts a variety of wildlife and historic sites, and the best place to view them is on the water. We will meet at The River Connection in Hyde Park, NY at 10 am on Thursday, June 19 for a guided 3 hour tour. The River Connection has top of the line sea kayaks for our paddling pleasure. We will meet at the retail shop briefly before heading down to the water for set up. Marshall (our guide and the shop proprietor) will then lead us to his boat house adjacent to a protected cove for outfitting.
We picked June because the weather is not too hot (like July) and not too cold (like May). We have timed this trip to take advantage of the tides and will head to the Hudson after a brief kayak and safety lesson in the cove. Bring a towel, change of clothes (just in case), hat, sunglasses, bug spray (probably not necessary) and a sense of humor! The cost of this event covers the kayak, PFD (personal flotation device), paddle and Marshall.
When we are all done we will head to a local eatery for lunch. (Not included.)
