Permit for the Croton Watershed (New York)

The DEP is issuing new comprehensive permits — a general Public Access Permit — that will allow for fishing at the reservoirs and designated areas in the Watershed. Everyone must have the Public Access Permit issued beginning in 2002, to fish the New York City Watershed. Please do not fish on Watershed lad without a proper permit. No one can give you permission to do so, not even a guide. The property is patrolled and if you are caught fishing without a permit, you will lose your New York State fishing license.

Information and applications are available online at www.nyc.gov/html/dep/html/watershed_protection/html/wsrecreation.html

For questions about the new permits, call (800) 575-LAND.
